The Great Pyramids and Sphinx Joining Earth Hour
Iconic monuments in Cairo will be turning their lights off for Earth Hour. The Great Pyramids, Sphinx and Cairo Tower will be among hundreds of monuments worldwide that will darken between 20:30 and 21:30. The Egyptian Ministry of Information has been a strong supporter of this initiative and have plans to televise the event on Channel 1 and Nile News.
In addition to monuments, Abercrombie & Kent is one of several businesses supporting Earth Hour by turning off their lights in their offices and boats along the Nile. Major hotels have also pledged support.
Individuals wishing to join in the fun and network can also join the Egyptian Earth Hour Facebook group: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=370358272913
Don't forget to turn your own lights off, Saturday March 27th 20:30- 21:30!
